What most Christian business coaching gets wrong

It usually fails in one of two directions. The first is all faith and no operating substance — encouragement, verses and accountability calls, but nobody who has actually carried a payroll, negotiated with investors, or scaled distribution into 26 countries. The second is ordinary business coaching with a fish sticker on it: the same tactics as everyone else, with your faith treated as a marketing segment instead of a foundation.

I built Puj through a recession, investor conflict and cash-flow crises, and the seasons when I treated the company as its own god were the seasons that nearly broke me — and my family with me. The turnaround wasn't a tactic. It was rebuilding the company around what I actually believed about work, stewardship and who I answered to.

About Katie

I trained as an industrial designer on a General Motors scholarship, then launched a baby products company called Puj in 2008 — into the worst consumer market in a generation. It worked. We reached 2,000+ US retail stores, 26 countries and more than a million customers.

It also nearly took me apart. Investor conflict, cash-flow crises, and a version of me who was only worth what the company had produced that quarter. The reckoning that followed put my faith and my family back at the center — and it's the reason I coach the way I do. I don't separate who a founder is from how her company is built.

Now I coach founders and executives through the Vital Framework, and I host the podcast What's Working Now.

What does a Christian business coach actually do?+

Everything a serious business coach does — decision rights, hiring order, operating rhythm, a plan your team can be measured against — with one difference: we never pretend your faith is a private hobby. The convictions you hold shape what we build, from how you treat people to which growth you say no to.

Do I have to share your faith to work with you?+

No. This page is written for believers because that integration is rare and I know they're looking for it. But the coaching itself — structure, growth, leadership — works the same for anyone, and I coach plenty of founders who'd describe their beliefs differently than I do. What matters is that you want a business built on your actual values.

How is this different from faith based business consulting?+

Consulting hands you a report. Christian career coaching mostly works on you and your calling. I work on you and the company at the same time, week over week, until the structure changes — because in a founder-led business, the founder and the machine are the same system.

Is the faith part theology or practice?+

Practice. I'm not your pastor and this isn't a Bible study. It's stewardship applied to an org chart: what the company is for, who it serves, what you will and won't do to grow it, and how the people inside it get treated on your worst quarter, not your best one.

How much does it cost?+

Pricing depends on format and length of engagement, and I quote it on the diagnostic call once I know what you actually need. I'll tell you on that call if I don't think the work will pay for itself — I'd rather lose the sale than steward your resources badly.

How long before I see results?+

The first structural change usually lands in the first two to three weeks, because it's almost always something you already knew and hadn't decided. Ninety days is the honest window for the changes to show up in your calendar, your numbers and your home. Anyone promising faster is selling you the feeling.
