Life Coach for Doctors

You did everything right — the training, the boards, the practice — and somewhere in there the work started running your whole life. I coach physicians the way I coach founders: rebuild the structure around you, so medicine gets to be the calling it was, not the thing that consumes everything else.

Who this is for

The dread is new — and growing

You used to love this work. Now you're counting charts at 9pm and feeling your stomach tighten on Sunday nights.

The practice runs on you

Every decision, every conflict, every hire routes through you — on top of a full patient load.

Your family gets what's left

You're present for patients all day and running on empty by the time you get home. Everyone can feel it.

Why coaching for doctors usually falls short

Most physician coaching starts and ends with you: mindset, resilience, boundaries, breathing exercises. Useful — and not enough. Because a lot of what's burning you out isn't in your head. It's in the structure: a schedule someone else controls, a practice with no operating rhythm, staff problems nobody owns, and an identity that got fused to production numbers somewhere along the way.

I'm not a physician. I'm a founder. I built a company into 2,000+ retail stores across 26 countries, and I know exactly what it is to be the person the whole machine depends on — and to nearly lose your family and yourself to it. The way out for me wasn't working harder or feeling better about the grind. It was rebuilding the machine so it stopped requiring all of me.

That's what I do with doctors. We work on you and on the structure around you at the same time — the calendar, the team, the decision rights, the practice economics if you own one — so the relief isn't a coping strategy. It's real, and it holds.

What's different in 90 days

  1. 01Your week redesigned around what only you can do — clinical work you chose, not everything that lands on you.
  2. 02Eight to twelve hours back — tracked, not estimated — and given deliberately to family, health and rest.
  3. 03A team and schedule that run without you refereeing every decision, whether you own the practice or lead within one.
  4. 04The dread named and dismantled — the specific drivers, structural and personal, addressed one by one.
  5. 05A twelve-month plan for your career and your life, with quarterly targets and real accountability.

Physician coaching, run on the Vital Framework

Five parts, run in order. It's the same system I use with founders and executives — pointed at a career in medicine and the life around it.

01

Vision

A specific picture of your practice and your life in three years — chosen, not inherited.

02

Inspiration

Reconnecting to why you went into medicine — said plainly enough to steer real decisions.

03

Team

The right people carrying what they should carry, so you stop being the safety net for everything.

04

Alignment

Your calendar, your commitments and your priorities pointed at the same quarter.

05

Leadership Systems

The meetings, metrics and decision rights that keep the practice running when you step away to live.

About Katie

I trained as an industrial designer on a General Motors scholarship, then launched a baby products company called Puj in 2008 — into the worst consumer market in a generation. It worked. We reached 2,000+ US retail stores, 26 countries and more than a million customers.

It also nearly took me apart. I know what it is to carry a machine that runs on you — and to be worth, in your own eyes, only what you produced that quarter. Rebuilding my life around what actually matters is the reason I coach the way I do.

Now I coach founders, executives and physicians through the Vital Framework, and I host the podcast What's Working Now.

How it works

STEP 01

Book a call

Pick a time on my calendar. Five minutes, no payment, no funnel.

STEP 02

The diagnostic call

We map the real constraint — in the practice, the schedule and underneath it. You leave with something useful either way.

STEP 03

Begin

We start on the first structural change that week. If it's a fit, we build from there.

Questions before you book

What does a life coach for doctors actually do?+

We work on two things at once: the structure of your work — schedule, team, decision rights, practice operations — and the person carrying it. Most physicians don't need more resilience training. They need a week that isn't designed to break them, and a clear-eyed look at what they actually want from the next decade of medicine.

How is this different from physician coaching or therapy?+

Therapy treats and heals, and I'll be the first to say some seasons call for it. Most physician coaching works on mindset alone. My work is structural: I've built and run the kind of machine your practice is, so alongside the personal work we change the calendar, the team and the systems — the things generating the stress in the first place.

I barely have time for lunch. How much time does this take?+

About an hour a week for our work, and the first thing we build is time. The eight to twelve hours a week my clients get back isn't a bonus of the coaching — it's the first project.

Do you work with employed physicians, or just practice owners?+

Both. Practice owners get the founder playbook — team, operations, economics. Employed physicians and medical leaders work on the parts you control: your schedule, your negotiations, your leadership, and the design of the career you actually want.

What about physician burnout?+

Burnout is usually treated as a personal failing to be fixed with self-care. In my experience it's mostly an engineering problem: a structure that demands more than any person can sustainably give. We address the person and re-engineer the structure — that's why the change holds.

How much does it cost?+

Pricing depends on format and length of engagement, and I quote it on the diagnostic call once I know what you actually need. I'll tell you on that call if I don't think the work will pay for itself.

Practice medicine. Get your life back.

Book a diagnostic call — I'll tell you straight if I'm not the right coach for you.
